Software Engineer/Build System Engineer

About the role:

Propylon is a leading global vendor of legislative and regulatory content management. We work with Legislatures and Regulatory agencies in Europe and the US to solve their content management problems and use cutting edge technologies within our products to provide processes efficiencies, increased collaboration, simplification of work flows and transparency of information.

Propylon currently has an open client facing position in its publishing and operations department for a detailed orientated candidate.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technology graduate to work in multiple disciplines.

 

The Role will include the following:

  • Build maintenance and scheduling
  • Build output distribution to internal team and external clients
  • Maintenance and problem solving XML publishing pipelines
  • Making amendments to publications
  • Provide direct support for company network and applications both on the network as well as through remote VPN access
  • Maintenance of infrastructure including servers, staff desktops/laptops, VMWare infrastructure
  • Provide direct user support and administration for company resources, tools and applications
  • Monitor network stability and performance – ensuring continuous operations and resolving service impacts as they occur
  • Working within Propylon’s engineering team to deliver and support live products
  • Working remotely with lead operations engineer in the United States

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 2 years experience in either Java or Python
  • Good working knowledge of XML and HTML
  • Good understanding of scripting languages such as BASH
  • Must understand and have experience working HTTP and FTP protocols
  • Working experience with various operating systems (Linux/Mac/Windows)
