Propylon Executive to Present at NALIT 2006

Company to Host Marquee Event at International Spy Museum

Washington, DC – October 10, 2006 [pdf]

In a show of support for the efforts to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of state legislatures through the use of technology, Propylon today announced that Clyde Hatter, Vice President, Legislative and Regulatory Solutions, would be presenting at this year’s National Association of Legislative Information Technology (NALIT) Professional Development Seminar. Additionally, as the seminar’s premier sponsor, Propylon will be hosting the marquee event at the International Spy Museum in Washington DC.

The NALIT Professional Development Seminar, now in its tenth year, is an annual event that brings together legislative IT professionals to share solutions and discuss innovative uses of technology at the governmental level. The 2006 NALIT theme is “Capitalizing on Convergence,” addressing the merging of video, data, and telecommunications technologies, and the importance of implementing these technologies to improve citizen service. The Seminar will take place October 10-14 at the Capital Hilton, just two blocks from the White House.

In an effort to educate attendees on the issues about XML-based systems and how the technology is being leveraged for legislative applications, Mr. Hatter will be participating on the “XML: Why and For What?” panel discussion. The panel will include legislative staff providing “lessons learned” insight into the process of moving from legacy to XML-based systems.

In addition to presenting at the seminar, Propylon is serving as the NALIT Terabyte sponsor, hosting the seminar’s marquee event at the International Spy Museum. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the only public museum in the world solely dedicated to the tradecraft, history, and contemporary role of espionage. After touring the museum, invitees will join Propylon for a special dinner on the museum’s premises, catered by the critically acclaimed Zola restaurant.

Fergal Murray, Propylon’s VP North America, noted, “We have been working closely with the NALIT community for years, and it’s a natural fit for us to support the 2006 Professional Development Seminar. It is a great honor that Clyde Hatter was invited to share his XML expertise as a presenter again.”

Mr. Murray, who does not plan to wear a James Bond tuxedo to the International Spy Museum despite requests from his staff, added, “We always look forward to seeing old friends and new at NALIT!”
